The Shires first made the history books in 2015, when their debut album Brave become the first British country album ever to enter the UK top ten.

Hailing from Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, Ben Earle and Crissie Rhodes are The Shires. After a whirlwind few years, they have fast become one of the firm favourites in the UK country music scene, even conquering Nashville along the way.

Following on from their huge success with their first album, their second album My Universe became the fastest-selling British country album of all time and positioned in the top three of the UK chart.

With two gold certified albums under their belt within 12 months of each other, it’s no surprise The Shires became the first British act to sign with Nashville-based Big Machine Label Group – again, making country music history.

With 13 playlisted tracks on BBC Music, including BBC Radio 2, and the first British act to be awarded the prestigious CMA Award, their third album Accidentally on Purpose was released in 2018.
